Pluck vs Mobbin

A Mobbin Alternative for Building Your Own UI Library

Mobbin gives you hundreds of thousands of curated screens. Pluck keeps the exact components you find anywhere on the web, with their real styles, and lets you design from them.

Mobbin is the reference library many designers open first: more than 621,500 screens from shipped iOS, Android and web products, organised into apps, sites, flows, animations and UI elements, with search, filters, collections and a Figma plugin. New content is added every week.

Pluck is a different kind of library. Nobody curates it but you. You click a component on any website, including your own product behind a login, and Pluck saves it with its screenshot, source page and full style data. Then you can copy it as an AI prompt or Figma layers, or mix it with other plucks on a Studio board to generate a new design.

More often than not they're complementary. Mobbin is where you go to see how a hundred apps handle onboarding. Pluck is where you keep the twelve pieces you've decided to borrow.

Choose Pluck if

  • You want references from any website, not only a curated list, including pages behind a login.
  • You want the styles, not only the picture: colours, type, spacing and breakpoints.
  • You paste references into Figma as editable layers, or into Cursor or Claude as prompts.
  • You want to generate new designs from your references.

Stay with Mobbin if

  • You want to browse how many shipped products solve the same problem, without collecting anything yourself.
  • You need complete user flows and animations.
  • You design native iOS or Android apps (Pluck only captures web pages).
  • You want powerful search across a huge library, and shared team collections.

Curated or collected

Mobbin's value is its curation. Someone has already captured hundreds of thousands of screens from real products and tagged them, so you can see every way a checkout or a settings page has been done without leaving your desk.

Pluck's library is the opposite: small, personal and taken from anywhere. It holds what you decided was worth keeping, from any site you visit, including sites Mobbin doesn't cover and your own product behind a login.

Pictures or components

A Mobbin screen is a screenshot, and its Figma plugin pastes it as an image. That's right for studying patterns. A pluck is the component itself: its element tree, computed styles and responsive breakpoints are captured along with the screenshot.

That difference shows up when you use a reference. A pluck pastes into Figma as editable layers, copies into Cursor or Claude as a prompt the AI can rebuild exactly, and connects into a Studio prompt to generate a new design.

Where Mobbin is better

Breadth, flows and mobile. Mobbin covers far more products than any one person could collect, shows complete user flows and animations, and covers native iOS and Android apps, which Pluck can't capture at all. Its search and filters are built for exploring a huge library, and its team plans are built for sharing one.

Using both

A good pattern: browse Mobbin to see how products solve the problem in front of you, then visit the live website of the one you like and pluck the component. You get Mobbin's breadth for research and Pluck's real styles for building. This works for web products; for native apps, Mobbin's screenshots are the reference.
