An Anima Alternative for Your Own AI Coding Tools
Anima turns a website into a running app inside Anima. Pluck turns the component you want into a prompt for Cursor, Claude Code or Lovable, so it's rebuilt in your codebase and your stack.
Anima has been turning designs into code for years. Its Playground is an AI app builder: paste a URL and Anima extracts the layout, colours and structure and generates an editable React or HTML app, up to ten pages at a time with routing kept on paid plans. Its Chrome extension clones full pages behind a login and captures single elements, and the result can be published, downloaded, pushed to GitHub or copied into Figma with auto layout.
Pluck takes a different route to the same goal. Instead of building the app for you in its own environment, Pluck captures exactly what's on the page (the element's structure, computed styles, assets and responsive breakpoints) and hands it to the AI tool you already work in. Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt or v0 then rebuild it in your project, with your components and conventions.
So the question is where you want the code to be written. If you want a running clone without setting anything up, Anima gets you there faster. If you already have a codebase and an AI tool you trust, Pluck fits into it.
Choose Pluck if
- You already work in Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt or v0 and want the clone built there, in your codebase.
- You use Vue, Svelte, Solid or Qwik as well as React, or a styling approach other than Tailwind.
- You copy components often: Pluck is unlimited from $10 a month.
- You want a library of everything you've captured, and a board to generate new designs from it.
Stay with Anima if
- You want a running app from a URL in one step, without your own AI tool.
- You're cloning several pages at once and want the routing kept.
- You want hosting, a custom domain or a GitHub repo created for you.
- You want Figma exports with auto layout.

Your AI tool or theirs
Anima is a complete environment: it scrapes the page, rebuilds it with its own AI, runs it, and hosts it. That's the fastest route from a URL to something you can click, and you don't need anything else.
Pluck assumes you already have the environment. Most teams have a codebase, a component library and an AI tool they've learned to trust. Pluck's job is to give that tool a perfect brief: the real structure and computed styles of the thing you want, written for your framework. The code ends up in your project, in your conventions, reviewed like any other change.
Components first
Pluck is built around one click on one component: the pricing table, not the pricing page. Each pluck becomes a prompt, a Figma paste or HTML, and it's kept in your library with its styles, so you can reuse it, compare it with others, or connect it into a Studio board to generate a new design.
Anima can capture single elements too, through its extension, and attach them to a prompt in its Playground. Its strength is whole pages and sites.
Where Anima is better
If you want a running clone of a site without setting anything up, Anima does more. It clones up to ten pages at once and keeps the routing, hosts the result with a custom domain, pushes it to GitHub, and exports to Figma with auto layout. Pluck does none of those: it hands the capture to your tools and stops there.
Using both
If you use Anima to scaffold a site, Pluck is still useful for the pieces: grab a specific component from another site as a prompt and ask your AI tool to add it to the project Anima exported.
